The conclusion is (natch) that drugs can improve memory and mental acuity but they don't necessarily make you "smarter" &ndash you can't remember what you never knew. I'm pretty sure they don't increase your intelligence (your ability to reason), either; I think that's a complex phenomenon that depends on more than the firing of synapses.
