« Roll Over Beethoven | Main | Flooding in Bombay » HypocrisyMark at boingboing.net posted this link to an interesting item at Daily Kos. The Supreme Court, in the Grokster case, sez that p2p technology companies are liable for illegal uses of their systems, whereas the presidente and Senate Republicans want to protect firearms manufacturers for lawsuits over gun crimes... "The president believes that the manufacturer of a legal product should not be held liable for the criminal misuse of that product by others," White House spokesman Scott McClellan is quoted as saying. "We look at it from a standpoint of stopping lawsuit abuse." jon posted this at 10:14 PM |

Well, there is a simple solution to this. Organize p-2-p advocates together to raise enough money so that we can pay large sums for every congressman and president's campaign. (We'll need to outspend the RIAA somewhat significantly). Lets start today! The concept is simple: ask file sharers to pay us money.... er... wait.. nevermind, I think I see a historical problem with this strategy. Hmph... like they say, you gotta pay if you wanna play -- thus file sharers -- by definition -- seem pretty much F$#ked in American politics.
