No good deed goes unpunished

San Marcos Texas State University police ordered Dan Newman to stop saving Abed Duamni, who was drowning in the San Marcos River, and when he wouldn't comply, they arrested him. I'm thinking of nominating the San Marcos Texas State University police for a special kind of award. [Link]

I should note it was probably the Texas State University police that did the arresting. They're notoriously incompetent. It should also be noted that Dave led the fight to get the university to take down the fences around that section of the river and let people swim there. Dave also happened to help bankroll the internet streaming of San Marcos's old pirate radio station, KIND, until it was shutdown by the FCC.
