« 2012 tech | Main | More First Night: Giant Eyeball » First NightWe made it to Austin's second annual First Night on New Year's Eve. I didn't attend the first, ran into friends who had been there and who said this one was far better because it was less spread out; most of the activity was focused around Cesar Chavez from Congress Ave. to City Hall. The event started with a terrific parade, probably the best parade I've seen. I think it's because the politicians and corporate marketing folks turned it over to artists and independents. I shot a photo set and took time to clean up the photos, which were already pretty good. Looking over the list, I see that there's a lot we missed... next year we'll do better!
