« Open Source Party | Main | Open Source, Politics, and Governance » Operator errorI just thought of a good analogy or metaphor for my thinking about the Open Source Party mentioned in my last post, as I was posting a response at MondoGlobo. Here's what I posted: In the USA, we already have a system of representative democracy (or at republic) that was created to be a source of consensus and balance. If it seems broken at the moment, that's not because the system's any more flawed than any system we might create to replace it. Rather, it's a case of "operator error" - we the people need to be better users, and that's what I really want from an "Open Source" or tech-focused political movement - better tools, better participation. jon posted this at 8:11 AM |
