This grouping, more nuanced than “Religious Right vs Everyone Else,” is “inspired by the twelve tribes of Biblical Israel, but formed around similarities in religious beliefs and practice.” Marc Armbinder at TheAtlantic.com notes that “there is no discernable (sic) trend toward a preference for more government intervention. Indeed, trust in government has declined.” (Thanks to Bob Carlton for the pointer.)
